I’m sure you may have heard by now: Grand Theft Auto 6 is REAL. Not just real to me, but real to the world. The game has been in development for a while now, but a trailer has officially dropped, and it’s looking like one of many (the title on YouTube seems to think so).
There’s a loooot to talk about here (which I did in my show), but to sum things up, the timeline looked a little something like this: trailer gets leaked a day early — what a surprise — then it gets released, then people are talking about it. The game is the first in the series to star a female lead, but is NOT the first in the series to take place in the iconic Vice City, a parody of Miami. No matter what, finally, after 59 long years, GTA 6 is landing in the real world.
Are you excited? Are you unexcited? Maybe you’re indifferent? Is the direction the series going somewhere you can get behind, or would you maybe do it differently? GTA is a highly acclaimed series, albeit with some problems within the actual series and player base itself, but nonetheless, this is big cultural news. The start of a new era, for some (for reference, GTA 5 came out when I was in 9th grade, and I was a wee 14-year old at the time…I’m 24 now).
Finally, a quick word from me, the Nic behind these shows: thank you so much for listening in this semester. It’s my first go at these shows and blogs, but I’ve had a blast doing them, and I hope that you’ve had a blast listening in! I try to make things fun here, and I’ll obviously be doing that next semester too. So uh, don’t worry about not having fun. OOOOOF COURSE, you can catch me again at the same place, right here on S@Y Radio, as we go through the unexpecting year of 2024 together. From me to you, thank you for listening, have a happy holiday season full of love and life, and a great new year. See you soon!
