Recently I was asked who I admire the most. If I am to admire someone, the basic requirements are he or she maintains high moral ethics, is competent, talented or skillful of some kind. I seldom consider if he or she is wealthy, or how many properties (e.g., luxurious homes and cars) he or she owns. Admiration can bring along my self-improvement through observation and appreciation of the behaviour of the one I admire. He or she will be my role model.
I love to get along with people who are smarter and more intelligent, efficient, civilized, decisive, and well organized. These naturally are the merits that one should be able to show before I am to admire him or her. I like to get along with someone who is considerate, knowledgeable but humble, understanding, unselfish, truthful, honest, and willing to share and give. I don’t like anyone who often makes excuses or even shifts the blame to others.
Having said that, it is impossible that I can meet one in the human world, except … He was born in a manger, without an attractive appearance or good looking face. Although he did not receive much education because he was born to a poor family, he appeared to be deeply knowledgeable and humble, yet authoritative. He committed no sins. He was glad to accept his limitations while being a man. He was courageous and obedient to his father. His integrity was beyond doubt. He always cared about doing the right thing, and was so determined to complete his mission. He did not run away even when things get tougher and tougher. Even admirable is that he was and still is able to inspire an uncountable number of followers who would even sacrifice when they know who exactly he is. He is the only one in this world who is entirely trustworthy. Most importantly, he always cares for me. His love never fails. He gives me hope, too. Guess who?
