At the NHL Awards on Wednesday night, EA Sports released the first gameplay trailer for it’s upcoming NHL 17 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The trailer features a look at numerous gameplay features, including new goaltending and puck mechanics. It also showcases some of the game’s updated visuals, including a fully scanned Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel. Fans can also get a first peak at the new uniforms of the Florida Panthers in the game, and they look just as good as the real things. Oh yea, and the ageless Jaromir Jagr doesn’t look a day over 40 in the trailer. EA also announced that Vladimir Tarasenko of the St Louis Blues will be the cover athlete for NHL 17. He beat out San Jose Sharks forward Joe Pavelski in the final round of the Cover Vote. This is the first time since NHL 10 that the cover athlete has not been a Canadian and the first time the cover athlete has been a Russian since NHL 07 since Alexander Ovechkin graced the cover.
