Not Just Netflix and Chill

For those who have been in a long-term relationship, I get how most of the time all you do with your partner stay indoors and watch movies all day and night during the holidays.  For those in newer relationships, you tend to always plan out something fun for you and your partner to do since it’s still fresh and you’re going to want to experience A LOT of things with them right off the bat.  For the singles who are not ready to mingle, the date ideas I’m about to share can apply for you, your friends, and even your family so don’t worry.  For those who are dating around and exploring their options, these date ideas can be fun so make the most out of it.

1.)    The Christmas Market @ Toronto Distillery District

Whether you’re 5 or 55, the Christmas Market is perfect for all ages.  Many vendors and restaurants are located at the Distillery District so I can guarantee you that your stomach will be satisfied with the food that they have.  If you love seafood, check out their Oyster Bar, and if you’re more into Mexican Food or a good ol’ coffee & dessert, visit one of the most well-known amazing restaurants there like El Catrin or the coffee & bake shops located at the heart of the District.

2.)    Skating @ Nathan Phillips Square or at The Harbourfront Center

Both Locations offer Skate Rentals for a fair price so if you do not own skates then NO PROBLEM! This is a cute date idea if you’re more into being goofy and falling on your butt with your partner and hopefully laughing about it after.  Plus you get to enjoy the view of Toronto’s City Lights and Waterfront Piers.

3.)    Attend a Live Musical Theatre Show

Shows and Concerts like The Phantom of the Opera at the Princess Wales Theatre is a great experience especially if you or your partner love live shows.  Not only do you get to dress nice, but it’s also a unique date to experience together especially if you love the plays that the theatres downtown are featuring.  Either way, it’s better than watching a musical in your room alone.

4.)    Share a Laugh at the Comedy Bar

One of the best comedy venues downtown The Comedy Bar are hosting a few shows in the month of December and January that you don’t want to miss.  The website is if you want to know more details on upcoming shows and prices.  It’s always a fun time drinking and laughing with your love ones.

5.)    Volunteer Together

If you want to do something special this holidays, go visit a church or a charity organization and volunteer with your partner, friend, or family member.  It’s always a great feeling doing something nice for the less fortunate.  Donate toys at the Toy Mountain Campaign and make children’s Christmas unforgettable J
